Jeremy Kost is a tireless chronicler of gender, sexuality and nightlife, travelling far and wide in the world to capture cryptic vignettes of urban city life. Strongly influenced by Warhol both in his choice of subjects and technique, Kost extends the creative potential of some of Warhol’s favourite tools including the Polaroid camera. In Kost’s work, Polaroid images not only serve as the basis of silkscreen paintings but are massed together in elaborate, multi-layered and playful photo-collages. The work ‘An All-American Classic’ came out of a project Kost worked on with fashion designer Stella McCartney.
Jeremy Kost has exhibited internationally including exhibitions at The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, the NRW Forum, Dusseldorf, Germany; The Goss Michel Foundation, Dallas, TX; Columbus College of Art & Design, Columbus.
