Noé Sendas

Well-known in the fashion world and deeply influenced by literature, cinema and music, Noé Sendas is specifically concerned with the practice of visual arts. His body of work encompasses a multiplicity of mechanisms playing with sculpture and human body. Through his glamorous and lively pictures Sendas tends to cross the border toward abstractions and geometry. The Wallpaper Girls exemplify the characteristics of his elegant imagery, mostly inspired by so called ‘grandfather of conceptual art’ John Baldessari and legendary fashion photographer with auteur edge Guy Bourdin.

Sendas studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, USA; Royal College of Arts, London; Arco and Atelier Livre, Lisbon. He has exhibited works in Yerba Buena for the Arts, USA; Kunsthalle Bonn, Germany; Akademie der Kunst, Berlin; Le Plateau, Paris; MEAC/ MUSAC/ Botin Foundation/ Foundation IC and Casa America in Spain.
