A collaboration between The Arts Club and award-winning portrait artist, Ian Bruce, the Lockdown Portraits is a fundraising initiative, started during the covid-19 pandemic. The series raised £26,000 for charity, with the proceeds from commissions being donated to NHS Charities Together and The National Emergencies Trust.
During the 2020 lockdown, Bruce kept members entertained with his mesmerising brushstrokes and intimate conversation between artist and sitter. Notable highlights include Barry Humphries, Jimmy Carr and the legendary fashion designer Ozwald Boateng – which we were delighted to finally exhibit in the Drawing and Ante Rooms in October 2021.
