Over the years, The Arts Club has supported many causes close to the hearts of our directors and members. We continue to partner with charities, businesses and individuals, working together on fundraising initiatives, raising awareness and contributing donations.
From Place2Be, where art is used as a creative tool to develop resilience and support children’s wellbeing and mental health , to Saviriti Trust’s efforts to make eyecare accessible in remote Indian communities; we have been pleased to support a variety of causes over the years.
Our events programme also allows us to raise awareness through educational talks and panel discussions. We have been delighted to partner with HeadTalks on a series of conversations raising awareness on mental health, with speakers including Ruby Wax, Bryony Gordon and Stephen Fry. We’ve also partnered with environmental law charity, ClientEarth, to explore topics around climate policy and conservation. We firmly advocate for increasing awareness and understanding around these important topics and hope that in doing so, our members will come to play a role in affecting positive change.
Championing Emerging Talent
The Arts Club champions emerging talent in art. As part of our long-running relationship with Royal Academy of Arts, The Arts Club awards a prize annually, to an artist featured in the Summer Exhibition. The £2,500 cash prize is awarded to an artist under the age of 35, with work in any medium excluding architecture. The prize has been running for almost a decade, and most recently, 23-year-old fine art graduate, Ofunne Azinge, was selected as the winner by The Arts Club’s director of Art, Aurore Ankarcrona Ogden, and Humphrey Ocean RA.
