2014 marks the 40th Anniversary of Diane von Furstenberg’s iconic wrap dress and to celebrate, the legendary designer herself joined us in conversation with Tim Blanks, Contributing Editor-at-Large at Style.com.

The pair discussed the world famous 1974 dress and her extraordinary life; from childhood in Brussels, to her days as a young fashion designer who created the dress that came to symbolise independence and power for an entire generation of women.

Diane also spoke about the inspirations behind her recently launched books, ‘Journey of a Dress’ and ‘The Woman I Wanted to Be’.
