What is it like to be a woman working within the photography industry?
Coinciding with Photo London’s sixth edition at Somerset House, the first physical photography fair globally in the past 18 months, The Arts Club was joined by photographers from the AOP’s f22 group, to discuss what it’s really like to be a woman working in the industry .
The Association of Photographers’ (AOP) f22 group was first formed in the 1980s and was resurrected in April 2019, driven by a need for the prolific inequality present in the photographic industry to be addressed. The group discuss the recent surge of women photographer groups, the ways we can provide support for established and emerging female and non-binary content creators, and consider what more can be done to achieve a gender-balanced future for the photography industry.
The panel comprises f22 members Wendy Carrig, Tabatha Fireman and Liz McBurney, moderated by Gabrielle Motola.
